Personal Data Protection on the iWOOD Platform

The iWOOD electronic auction platform is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses personal data, and to fulfilling its obligations in the area of personal data protection in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This document explains what data the platform processes, for what purpose, for how long, and what the rights of the data subjects are.

Types of Data Collected

The iWOOD electronic auction platform processes the following categories of data:

  • Technical and analytical data – data collected through the Google Analytics service (IP address in anonymised form, device type, browser, country of origin of the visit).
  • Data related to platform usage – identification data of registered users to the extent necessary for the operation of electronic auctions, data on auctions, bids, and transactions.
  • Price and commercial parameter data – starting prices, offered prices, winning prices, price history of auction items, and related metadata (date, time, auction identification, anonymised participant identifier).

Price data does not constitute a special category of personal data; however, it may be linked to an identifiable platform user and is processed in accordance with the GDPR.

Purpose of Data Processing

Data is processed for the purpose of ensuring the proper functioning of the platform, conducting electronic auctions, and improving the user experience.

Price and auction data is processed in particular for the purposes of ensuring the conduct of auctions, evaluating and archiving results, analytical and statistical activities, reporting, fulfilment of legal obligations, and the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the operator and auction organisers.

Legal Basis for Processing

The processing of personal data is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of a contract), Article 6(1)(c) GDPR (compliance with legal obligations), and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest – archiving, analytics, protection of rights).

Data Retention Period

Data collected through the Google Analytics service is retained for a period of 14 months.

Price, auction, and commercial transaction data is retained for a period of 10 years from the conclusion of the relevant auction, for the purposes of archiving, analytical evaluation, auditing, and protection of rights and legitimate interests.

After the retention period expires, data will be securely deleted or anonymised.
